Ellen
Burstyn made a name for herself in the hit soap opera "The
Doctors" in the mid-1960s. She then started getting roles
in high-profile movies like "Tropic of Cancer" (which
featured some nice full-frontal shots and unfortunately is extremely
hard to find), "The Last Picture Show" (which gained
her much critical and audience acclaim) and "The King of
Marvin Gardens" (another glimpse of nudity). By the late-1970s,
she had been nominated for several Oscars, finally winning one
for her role in "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore".
She made history that same year by winning a Tony award for Best
Actress, becoming the only woman to do so in the same year. |
